Mr. Goerlich joined the firm of Garofalo Goerlich Hainbach in 1982, and became a member of the firm in 1985. He has specialized in aviation law throughout his tenure with Garofalo Goerlich Hainbach. Upon graduation from law school in 1980, Mr. Goerlich joined the firm of Fleming, O'Bryan & Fleming of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While practicing in Florida, Mr. Goerlich concentrated in the area of general civil litigation, representing various clients before state and federal courts.

With Garofalo Goerlich Hainbach, Mr. Goerlich has represented the full range of the firm's clients, including foreign and domestic air carriers, tour operators, and other companies engaged in the air transportation business. This work has included representation of clients before all of the U.S. federal agencies having jurisdiction over aviation issues, as well as transactional and commercial work. Further, Mr. Goerlich has developed a sub-specialty in representing U.S. and foreign clients before the Canadian aviation regulatory agencies.

Mr. Goerlich has conducted numerous seminars on the U.S. Department of Transportation charter regulations and related requirements. Approximately two-thirds of the seminars have been held for public charter operators and their personnel; the remaining one-third have been conducted for airlines involved in the provision of charter air transportation. Mr. Goerlich also has served as an expert witness in this field.

Mr. Goerlich received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Tulane University in 1977. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the same university in 1980. He is an active instrument-rated pilot, having held his pilot's license since 1973. Mr. Goerlich holds an AV (highest) rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He served for six years as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Kingsbury Center, a non-profit educational institution for children and adolescents with learning disabilities, and is active in the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association and other professional organizations.
