About
Matthew Filpi joined Garofalo Goerlich Hainbach PC (GGH) in 2025. His practice includes counseling both domestic and foreign air carriers on a wide range of matters before the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and elsewhere. His focus areas include domestic and foreign air carrier licensing and ongoing regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining GGH, Matthew worked as an Attorney-Advisor at DOT, where he focused on rulemaking in the Office of Chief Counsel at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In addition to working in the executive branch, Matthew also has experience in the legislative branch as a staffer for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where he worked on a variety of transportation related policy issues, including passage and implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
Matthew earned a B.A. in Political Science from Gonzaga University in 2017. He received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2021 and is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
